Responsibilities include:

An independent and expert outside advisory group of five to ten members, whose purpose is to:
• Provide expert advice and recommendations on specific project and issue topics.
• Provide a vehicle for communication to reach out and build partnerships, understandings and cooperation with the environmental community and public at large.

Wyoming State Forestry Division (WSFD)

The Wyoming State Forestry Division is a department of the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. The mission of the WSFD is to utilize science based, professional forestry practices to establish, enhance, protect, and utilize Wyoming's forests, trees, and associated resources to contribute to the socio-economic well being of Wyoming.

The WSFD is responsible for the management, protection and improvement of all forestry interests and matters pertaining to forestry within the State of Wyoming. The Division is responsible for the management of 270,000 acres of forested state trust lands, along with direct fire protection responsibilities for 3.6 million acres of state land. The Division is also responsible for the implementation of several landowner and community assistance programs throughout the state, including Forest Stewardship and the Living Snow Fence Program.
